Privacy policy
The short version. Fair Deal has no account and no sign-in, and it never asks for your name, email address, contacts, photos or location. Your progress stays on your phone. To make the game better, the app sends anonymous gameplay events (such as “level 12 started” or “a Hint was used”) to our analytics provider, PostHog. They’re tied to a random ID the app makes when it’s installed, never to who you are. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell data, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
1. Who we are
Fair Deal is made by Press Get Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17111297), with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the data described here. For anything about your privacy, email hello@fairdeal.win.
2. What stays on your phone
Your progress (levels cleared, stars, the club’s rooms), your powers (Hints, Peeks, Rewinds), your daily deal streak, any deal you’re partway through, and your settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.
3. What the app sends us: anonymous analytics
So we can see which levels are too hard, which powers help and where players get stuck, the app sends usage events to PostHog, which stores and analyses them for us. These include:
- How the game is played: levels and daily deals started, won or run out of moves; moves used and stars earned; powers used; the tutorial’s steps; scenes in the club; settings changed (such as sound, vibration, text size and reminders).
- App events: the app being installed, updated, opened and closed.
- Error reports: if something goes wrong in the game, a short note of the error, where in the game it happened, and the screen and level you were on, so we can fix it.
- Basic device details: device model, operating system and version, app version, language and time zone.
- A random ID the app creates when it’s installed, so events from the same install can be grouped together. It isn’t linked to your name, email, phone number, advertising ID or anything else that identifies you, and we don’t create a profile of you.
Like any internet service, PostHog receives your device’s IP address when the app sends events. It is used only to estimate your country and region, never to identify you.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the game is played so we can improve it. Because the data is anonymous and limited to gameplay, we believe this has minimal impact on you. You can object at any time (see section 7).
4. Daily reminders and sharing
If you turn on daily reminders, they are scheduled by your phone itself. No reminder data is sent to us or anyone else, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings. If you share a daily deal result, the app hands the text to your phone’s share sheet; what happens next is up to you and the app you share it with.
5. Who else sees the data
Only PostHog, Inc., acting as our data processor, which stores the analytics events on servers in the United States. We don’t sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and we don’t use it for advertising. Transfers to the United States are protected by the safeguards required by UK and EU law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Apple and Google provide the App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies. They may share anonymous download, crash and usage statistics with us, depending on the settings on your device.
6. How long we keep it
We keep analytics events only for as long as they help us improve the game, and we delete them after no more than two years.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK and EU data protection law and California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. Because the analytics are anonymous, we usually can’t tell which events are yours. The simplest way to stop all data collection is to delete the app, which also discards its random ID. If you’d like to make a request, email hello@fairdeal.win and we’ll help however we can.
If you’re in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. In the EU, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
8. Children
Fair Deal is a family-friendly game, but it isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app collects nothing that identifies anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. Security
Data sent from the app to PostHog is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We limit access to our analytics to the people who work on the game.
10. This website
fairdeal.win uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the game uses data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll tell you in the app or on the App Store and Google Play listing.
